ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — A trooper rescued four siblings from a flipped vehicle after a rollover crash on I-65 at approximately 2:10 p.m. Friday.
The incident involved two vehicles. According to Kentucky State Police (KSP), one vehicle flipped onto its side, trapping the family inside. A caller alerted dispatchers about the emergency.
Trooper Blaine Miller, already in the vicinity responding to another call, arrived quickly. KSP reported that upon arrival, the vehicle was smoking and beginning to catch fire. Miller broke through the windshield and entered the vehicle to assist the trapped occupants.
The four individuals, family members from Louisville, sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where they have since been released. The driver of the semi, which caused the incident by merging from the middle lane into the right lane, was unharmed.
KSP continues to investigate the crash, which temporarily closed lanes on I-65.
