Body Found Following Interstate Crash in Gaston County
Authorities in Gaston County, North Carolina, are investigating a shocking revelation following an interstate crash. On Oct. 26, Marlo Wallace, one of the drivers involved in an accident with a semi-truck on Interstate 85 near Cox Road, informed police that they would find a deceased person at her residence in Dallas, NC.
Following the crash, police transported Wallace to the hospital. Upon her release, she directed officers to her home, where they discovered the body of 23-year-old Aaliyah Michelle Fortner. Wallace had been caring for Fortner, who lived at the residence.
The cause of death has yet to be disclosed, and authorities did not specify how long Fortner had been deceased. Wallace faces multiple charges, including concealment of death from unnatural causes and felony assault of an individual with disabilities. Her bond was set at $1.5 million.
A second suspect, Vera Williams, has also been charged with patient abuse and neglect, along with felony assault. Williams' bond is set at $1 million.
Dallas is approximately 30 miles northwest of uptown Charlotte.
