Rutherford County, N.C. – Five people were killed in a fiery car crash near Sunshine in Rutherford County on Friday evening.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:45 p.m. on Bostic-Sunshine Highway near Whiteside Road.
A vehicle was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound car.
Both vehicles caught fire after the collision.
Five people were killed in the accident.
The identities of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
