SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two people were killed in a crash on 13 Mile Road at 55th Avenue Saturday night, according to the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the scene around 9:47 p.m. Investigators report an SUV with two passengers failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with a truck in the intersection.
The truck's driver, a 32-year-old man from Remus, contacted emergency services following the incident. Both occupants of the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities closed both lanes on 13 Mile Road and 55th Avenue for the investigation; the roads have since reopened.
