LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One person sustained life-threatening injuries following a crash near the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night.
The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. at Tropicana Avenue west of Koval Lane, adjacent to MGM Grand and Oyo, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. A 2016 Land Rover Discovery was traveling east on Tropicana when it struck a pedestrian crossing the road outside of a marked or implied crosswalk.
The impact propelled the pedestrian onto the roadway, authorities said. The victim was transported to UMC Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Land Rover remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police confirmed. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section is conducting an investigation into the incident.
