LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Police are responding to a plane crash near Louisville International Airport on Tuesday, resulting in reported injuries.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, the incident occurred at the intersection of Fern Valley Road and Grade Lane, situated at the southern edge of the airport. Authorities indicated that there is a fire and debris at the crash site, urging the public to avoid the area. A shelter-in-place order has been issued for a 5-mile radius around the airport.
Witnesses posted images on social media showing a significant plume of black smoke rising into the sky, while local television footage captured flames and smoke emanating from a nearby parking lot. Fire trucks are currently working to extinguish the blaze.
