Motorcyclist critically injured in downtown Nashville crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a crash early Sunday at 4th Avenue South and Korean Veterans Boulevard.

Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was traveling on Korean Veterans when a vehicle turned onto 4th Avenue. Investigators are working to determine which party failed to yield. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. An NDOT worker witnessed the incident and provided assistance until paramedics arrived. The motorcyclist was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

This incident follows a serious that occurred at the same intersection last week. Police charged 41-year-old George Henein of Murfreesboro after he struck 28-year-old Nicholas Leonhardt of Charlotte, North Carolina, critically injuring him. Henein admitted to being the driver and faces multiple charges.

Local authorities have not reported any lane closures as a result of this latest crash. The investigation is ongoing.
