1 Dead After Boat Crash on Clear Lake
CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (KCRG) — A man was killed in a boat collision on Clear Lake Thursday morning, according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
Authorities received a call about the incident around 8:30 a.m. near the Little Lake area. The driver of one fishing boat was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger was transported to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. No injuries were reported from the other boat's occupants.
The DNR confirmed that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash. Clear Lake Police and Fire, Ventura Fire, and the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident.
An investigation by the DNR is ongoing.
