DEERFIELD, Wis. — A head-on collision in the Town of Deerfield led to the death of a 65-year-old man on June 30. Kevin W. Kuehne, a resident of Middleton, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office.
The incident occurred around 9:44 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and County Highway W. Evidence indicates that one vehicle crossed over the center line, colliding directly with another vehicle. Each vehicle contained one occupant.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators closed the roadway for approximately four hours as they gathered evidence regarding the crash.
Preliminary findings from the forensic examination confirmed that Kuehne died from the injuries he sustained in the incident. The Dane County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
