Utah Juvenile Hospitalized Following Five-Vehicle Crash in Idaho.

ASHTON, Idaho (KUTV) — A juvenile from Utah was following a five-vehicle crash in Fremont County on Wednesday afternoon.

The Idaho State Police reported the incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. on US-20, just north of Ashton. A 43-year-old man from Clinton, Utah, was driving a Dodge Ram towing an RV trailer when he encountered a two-vehicle crash being addressed by the Fremont County Sheriff's Office.

As the Dodge moved into the eastbound passing lane, a 27-year-old man from Salt Lake City, driving a Odyssey, slowed for the initial crash. A 20-year-old woman from Idaho Falls, operating a Tesla Model 3, failed to stop in time and rear-ended the .

Subsequently, a 56-year-old man from St. Anthony in a GMC Sierra attempted to move into the eastbound passing lane, sideswiping both the Tesla and Honda, which pushed the Tesla into the westbound lane. A 71-year-old man from Kansas driving a Subaru Ascent swerved to avoid the Tesla and struck the Dodge.

Authorities confirmed that a juvenile passenger from the Honda was transported to a local hospital. The roadway was obstructed for approximately three and a half hours during the incident response.

Fremont County EMS, Ashton Police Department, North Fremont Fire, St. Anthony Police Department, and the Idaho Transportation Department assisted at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
