Crash in Boston's Ted Williams Tunnel Causes Lane Closures, Delays
BOSTON, MA — A crash early Thursday morning in the Ted Williams Tunnel led to lane closures and significant traffic delays.
According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the incident occurred around 5:50 a.m. on Interstate 90 eastbound, resulting in both lanes being closed briefly. All lanes have since reopened.
State Police reported that the crash involved one vehicle, which overturned and blocked both eastbound lanes. One individual was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. The vehicle has been towed from the scene.
MassDOT released footage later in the day that captured the moment the vehicle flipped over, creating sparks before coming to rest between two other vehicles.
