Family Identifies Victim of Fatal Mattapan Crash as Suspect Prepares for Arraignment.

A 45-year-old woman was killed in Mattapan, Boston, on Saturday afternoon after being struck by a stolen vehicle.

According to Boston Police, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. near the intersection of Fairway Street and Blue Hill Avenue. The victim has been identified as Binty Johnson.

Authorities said Ibraim Matos, 37, of Hyde Park, allegedly stole a vehicle near a wash and subsequently struck Johnson before colliding with an MBTA . Witnesses reported that workers attempted to intervene during the carjacking.

Matos is charged with murder, carjacking, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on Monday.

Traffic in the area remained closed to motorists until approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday. Matos was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
