Provo Police Arrest Man for Temple Break-In
PROVO, Utah — A man was arrested on Dec. 6, 2022, after allegedly breaking into the Provo City Center Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to escape the cold.
According to the Provo Police, officers responded to reports of a break-in at approximately 2:41 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a single male suspect inside the temple. The break-in caused an estimated $4,000 in damage.
Authorities reported that the suspect entered the building after hours, seeking refuge from the weather. He was apprehended without incident and is currently facing charges related to the break-in.
Emergency medical services were not required, and there were no reported injuries. The investigation remains ongoing as police further examine the incident.
