Hephzibah Boy Dies in Afternoon Car Crash
A car accident on Monday afternoon at the intersection of Peach Orchard and Tobacco roads resulted in the death of an 8-year-old Hephzibah boy.
Camden Poole suffered fatal injuries during the collision, occurring around 1 p.m. He was pronounced dead at Wellstar/MCG less than an hour later, according to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Two adults were in the vehicle with Camden at the time of the crash. Authorities reported that they were transported to a hospital for treatment. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office stated that one vehicle was traveling south on Peach Orchard Road, while another was in a left-turn lane heading north at the intersection when the crash happened.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
