EUGENE, OR—A 74-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 58 near Odell Lake, south of Oakridge, on August 19.
According to Oregon State Police, the incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Preliminary investigations revealed that Joseph Bowers Luker Sr. was driving westbound in a Nissan Sentra when the vehicle veered off the roadway for unknown reasons, traveled down an embankment, and rolled onto its side.
Luker was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details regarding potential contributing factors have been released.
