Wilson County, N.C. – Four people were killed in a car crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon near Lucama in Wilson County.
The fatal crash happened around 4:50 p.m. on US 301 near Mobley Road, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
A vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lane of the highway when it collided head-on with another car. The wrong-way vehicle burst into flames, while the second car overturned.
All four occupants, two in each vehicle, died at the scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
