26-Year-Old Woman Dies in McCully Rollover Crash.

HONOLULU, HI — A 26-year-old woman died in a late-night vehicle overturn in McCully on Tuesday, according to Honolulu Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Bingham Street, near McCully Street, when the woman's eastbound vehicle sideswiped a parked, unoccupied . This collision pushed the parked vehicle into a second parked and a fire hydrant, leading to the woman's vehicle overturning.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the woman to an area hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries. A 25-year-old female passenger was also taken to the hospital in critical condition. A second 25-year-old female passenger and a 1-year-old girl were evaluated at the scene and found uninjured, authorities said.

Police confirmed that the driver was wearing a seatbelt during the incident; however, the two 25-year-old passengers were not buckled. EMS reported that the 1-year-old girl was secured in a car seat.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Honolulu Police Department's Traffic Division Vehicular Homicide Section. Officials have not confirmed whether speed, drugs, or alcohol contributed to the accident.

This incident marks Oahu's 26th traffic fatality of 2023, compared to 59 fatalities at the same time last year, according to police reports.
