LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A 21-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision with a Tesla on Hacienda Avenue on Saturday evening.
Authorities said officers responded at approximately 7:53 p.m. to the crash at Hacienda Avenue and Redwood Street. Initial investigations indicate the motorcyclist was riding a 2025 Honda Rebel eastbound on Hacienda Avenue when the incident occurred.
A 2024 Tesla Model 3, stopped at a stop sign on Redwood Street, reportedly failed to yield while turning west onto Hacienda Avenue. The Tesla entered the motorcycle‘s path, resulting in a collision that ejected the rider onto the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel transported the motorcyclist to UMC Trauma for treatment; he was later pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts. The Tesla driver sustained injuries, remained at the scene, and did not show signs of impairment, according to police.
The collision is under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section. This incident marks the 82nd traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction for 2026.
