MIDLothian Man Injured in Goochland County Crash Involving Fire Truck
GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. — A 20-year-old man from Midlothian suffered serious injuries early Saturday morning when his vehicle collided with a fire truck responding to a separate accident on Route 288.
At approximately midnight, Virginia State Police reported a single-vehicle crash on southbound Route 288 near the James River Bridge. The initial incident involved a car striking a guardrail.
While Goochland County firefighters were on the scene, blocking the left lane with their truck and activated emergency lights, a second vehicle, driven by Edgar Ruiz Carrillo, struck the fire truck. No firefighters were injured in this collision.
The driver involved in the initial crash was also transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Both crashes are currently under investigation by Virginia State Police.
Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
