Hawaii Authorities Investigate Fatal Crash on Pali Highway
KAILUA, HI – A fatal single-car accident occurred on the Pali Highway Thursday morning, leading to significant road closures.
Authorities said the incident took place around 7:15 a.m. involving a sedan traveling southbound. Witnesses reported that the vehicle lost control and struck a guardrail before overturning. A 16-year-old female was confirmed dead at the scene.
Emergency responders from the Honolulu Fire Department and the Honolulu Police Department arrived shortly after the crash. Paramedics provided medical aid but pronounced the teen deceased.
All southbound lanes of the Pali Highway were closed for several hours due to the investigation and vehicle recovery. Tow services were dispatched to clear the wreckage.
As of now, officials are investigating the cause of the accident, with early reports suggesting excessive speed may have been a factor. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Honolulu Police Department.
