ROCKFORD, Ill. — A vehicle crash near Rockford Airport resulted in the death of a 25-year-old woman early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 14, a vehicle entered the roundabout at the intersection of Kishwaukee St. and Airport Dr. Passengers included Ciana Talmadge from Chicago, who was found unresponsive.
Rockford Police Department and Rockford Fire Department personnel responded to the incident. All three occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital, but Talmadge was pronounced dead at 3:19 a.m.
The driver, 30-year-old Alazia Hatchett from Orland Hills, has been charged with Aggravated DUI Involving Personal Injury/Death and Reckless Homicide. She is currently held in Winnebago County Jail.
Hatchett is scheduled to appear in court on October 30 at 9:00 a.m. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
