Jane Lew, W.Va. – On June 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on southbound Interstate 79 near mile marker 101.
Corporal George Jones of the West Virginia State Police responded to the scene and confirmed that a car had rear-ended a tractor trailer. The driver of the car, identified as Douglas Skaff, 48, of South Charleston, W.Va., was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash resulted in significant damage to both vehicles. The West Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team has been notified and is involved in the ongoing investigation.
There were no additional injuries reported. Authorities have not released further details about lane closures or towing at this time.
