A crash involving a Boyd County deputy's cruiser injured several individuals on Wednesday in Cannonsburg, Kentucky.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. in the parking lot of the Snyders facility, located in the 1600 block of Shopes Creek Road, according to the Boyd County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities reported that a deputy was engaging with a witness regarding a theft investigation when a vehicle traveling on Midland Trail crossed Shopes Creek Road, colliding with the cruiser. Witnesses said the impact resulted in the deputy being thrown to the ground.

Both the deputy and the driver of the vehicle were transported to King's Daughters Medical Center. While the deputy has since been released, the condition of the other driver remains undisclosed.

A witness, who was seated inside the cruiser during the collision, was from the scene due to her injuries, but further updates on her status have not been provided.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Kentucky State Police, who will release additional information as it becomes available.
