GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. — A Grayson County woman was killed in a rollover crash on Shrewsbury Road on August 8.
Mary Haynes, 59, was traveling northbound on KY 187 when she swerved across the southbound lane and struck a ditch, according to the Grayson County Sheriff's Office. Her vehicle overturned, entered a ditch, and collided with a culvert. Authorities reported that Haynes was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, resulting in her being thrown inside the vehicle.
Haynes was pronounced dead at the scene. The Grayson County Sheriff's Office noted her as a valued employee at a local store. Her obituary described her as “a cheerful cashier at Walmart who treated her customers and coworkers like family.” An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
