Fatal Crash on Route 11 in Poland Claims Life of Woman
A 40-year-old woman died in a head-on collision on Route 11 in Poland on Sunday afternoon, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities report that the woman was driving a 2026 Toyota Camry northbound when her vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with a 2019 Ram pickup truck towing a camper. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 63-year-old man from Ohio, sustained minor injuries.
The section of Route 11, located in the 700 block and also known as Bakerstown Road, remained closed for several hours while emergency services attended to the incident.
The identity of the deceased woman is withheld pending notification of her family. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, officials confirmed.
