RUMFORD, ME — A Rumford woman died in a single-vehicle crash on Greenwoods Road in Sumner on Friday morning.
Teresa Palmer, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene after her 2022 Kia Forte crossed the centerline, left the roadway, and struck a tree, according to James Urquhart, Chief Deputy of the Oxford County Sheriff's Office.
The Oxford County Regional Communications Center received reports of the crash around 8 a.m. First responders located Palmer deceased inside the vehicle. The Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the incident.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area to call the Sheriff's Office at 207-743-9554. The Sumner Fire Department and Buckfield Rescue assisted deputies at the scene.
