BOZEMAN — A two-vehicle collision on Highway 191 resulted in a fatality on Thursday, April 18, 2025.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP), the crash occurred around 6 p.m. at mile marker 67, northwest of Storm Castle. A 48-year-old woman from Gallatin Gateway, identified as Jozie Beth Hrenchir, was driving a Toyota Tacoma northbound when she failed to negotiate a curve and moved in front of a Ram 5500 ambulance.

MHP reported that the vehicles collided, causing Hrenchir's truck to overturn and trap her inside. She was at the scene.

Emergency responders included the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, MHP, Big Sky Fire Department, and Gallatin Gateway Fire. The ambulance occupants—a 27-year-old man from Bozeman and a 26-year-old male from Helena—sustained no injuries but were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Authorities are still investigating the incident. While the MHP report suggested that speed, alcohol, and drugs may have played a role, no definitive conclusions have been drawn regarding impairment.

Further details are pending, and updates will follow as more information becomes available.
