FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A woman has been charged with DUI resulting in death following a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday evening.
Tonya Lynn Hedrick, 46, faces charges of driving under the influence causing death, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Glen Ferris Loop.
Authorities reported that a witness observed Hedrick's SUV entering U.S. 60, directly into the path of a Jeep. The occupants of the Jeep were hospitalized, and one passenger later died.
Deputies stated that Hedrick appeared to have a white powdery substance on her nostril while receiving medical aid. She was subsequently interviewed, underwent field sobriety tests, and had a blood sample collected via a search warrant.
