ATTLEBOROUGH, MA — A driver was extricated unresponsive from a vehicle following a crash that killed a dog early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 12:00 a.m. near Angeline Street and Washington Street, according to Attleborough Fire Chief Scott Lachance. Emergency crews arrived to find a vehicle severely damaged after crashing into a retaining wall.
The driver, a male, was the sole occupant and required a 10-minute extrication effort. Authorities stated he was transported to a hospital in Rhode Island, where his condition remains unknown; CPR was administered at the scene.
A deceased dog was also found inside the vehicle.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing, according to officials.
