A Waynesville woman was airlifted to a hospital following a serious car crash in Cole County on Friday evening.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported the incident occurred at 6:26 p.m. on U.S. 54 at Gray Road.
According to authorities, a 57-year-old Waynesville woman was driving a 2021 GMC Yukon when she struck the rear of a 2025 Honda CR-V.
The GMC then veered off the roadway, colliding with a highway sign and a tree.
The driver of the GMC sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. The driver of the Honda was unharmed, but a 37-year-old woman from Ozark, an occupant of the Honda, suffered minor injuries.
MSHP confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
