Two-Vehicle Crash on I-40 Bridge Results in Serious Injuries
MEMPHIS, TN — A two-vehicle crash on the I-40 bridge occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. on Tuesday, injuring three individuals, according to authorities.
The accident involved a sedan and an SUV, both traveling westbound on the bridge. Emergency responders from the Memphis Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after the crash. Medical personnel transported the injured individuals to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities reported that the collision caused significant lane closures on the bridge, which were in effect for nearly two hours as crews worked to clear the scene. Towing services removed both vehicles, and traffic was redirected to alternate routes during the investigation.
