BEAVER, Utah (KUTV) — A deputy was injured while responding to a crash on I-15 on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred on northbound I-15 near Cedar Knoll when the deputy and a trooper were attending to an earlier crash. According to a Utah Highway Patrol spokesperson, the deputy sustained a broken arm and other minor injuries, while the trooper was unharmed.
Emergency response included personnel from the Utah Highway Patrol and Beaver County Sheriff's Office. The Utah Department of Transportation estimated the scene would be cleared by 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
In a Tuesday evening update, the Beaver County Sheriff's Office confirmed the deputy was at home and recovering. “Thank you all so much for the thoughts and prayers,” the post stated. “He is finally home and doing okay.”
