Crash Closes Part of University Avenue in Des Moines
DES MOINES, Iowa — A portion of University Avenue is closed following a single-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon.
According to Des Moines police, the incident occurred between 14th Place and 15th Street at approximately 2:41 p.m. A vehicle struck a utility pole, resulting in minor injuries and causing wires to fall across the roadway.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of University Avenue are temporarily closed as MidAmerican Energy crews respond to the scene for repairs. Authorities have not reported any serious injuries.
