ERIE, Colo. — A 2-year-old died in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday afternoon, according to the Town of Erie Police Department.
Officers responded to the incident at approximately 4:40 p.m. in the area east of Mountain View Boulevard and north of Village Vista Drive. Despite emergency medical efforts, the child succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the toddler was on foot or inside a vehicle at the time of the crash. Erie police are currently seeking the driver who fled the scene and urge anyone with information to call 303-441-4444.
This incident marks the third traffic-related event in Erie over the weekend, according to police reports.
