BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WCHS) — A single-vehicle crash killed two individuals Tuesday morning in Boyd County, Kentucky.
The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. in the 5600 block of U.S. Route 60, according to the Boyd County Coroner's Office. A pickup truck towing a trailer with lawnmowing equipment was traveling toward Ashland when it veered off the highway, crossed a grassy area, and struck an excavator parked at an equipment-rental business.
Authorities identified the driver as Jonathan Wolfe, 27, of Rush, and the passenger as George Timothy Matthew Bundy, 23, of Ashland. Both men had to be extricated from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate Bundy was unrestrained in the passenger seat at the time of the crash.
The Kentucky State Police is investigating the incident. Emergency response included KSP, the Boyd County Sheriff's Department, Boyd County EMS, the Boyd County Coroner's Office, and fire departments from Summit-Ironville and Cannonsburg.
