Two people are dead following a head-on collision in Pettis County on March 31, 2026.
The crash occurred at 11:30 p.m. on Highway 50, west of Monsees Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A 58-year-old man from Smithton, MO, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when he crossed into the westbound lane, colliding with a 2021 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 45-year-old woman from Green Ridge, MO.
Authorities pronounced both drivers dead at the scene.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. No additional injuries were reported, and the roadway was temporarily closed during the response and investigation.
