Title: Twin-Engine Plane Crash in Fort Worth Claims Two Lives
A Beechcraft King Air C90 crashed shortly after takeoff from Alliance Airport in Fort Worth on Sunday afternoon, resulting in two fatalities.
According to the FAA and NTSB, officials are investigating the cause of the crash. The airport is located approximately ten miles from the crash site on Saginaw Boulevard.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing a low-flying aircraft around 1:30 p.m. Bob Ashbrook recalled hearing the sound of propellers before a loud explosion that shook the ground. “It didn't sound right,” he said.
Shaquana Hodges, a nearby massage therapist, heard a series of explosions after the initial impact. “We heard a boom, but didn't think much of it,” she stated. Following the crash, employees evacuated nearby businesses due to fears of fire spreading.
Hodges described the scene as “dark and muggy” with fire visible in a nearby vehicle. The once-familiar sound of planes is now a haunting reminder of the tragedy.
As of Monday afternoon, the identities of those killed have not been released by the medical examiner's office. While businesses reopened, foot traffic remained slow amid the aftermath.
Authorities will continue their investigation into the incident.
