Two Dead, Several Injured in Four-Car Collision in South Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people died and several others were injured Monday afternoon after a four-car collision on Interstate 470.
The crash occurred around 2:41 p.m. near the interchange with U.S. Route 50. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicles involved included two sedans and two SUVs.
Emergency responders from the Kansas City Fire Department and AMR were on the scene, providing medical aid to those injured. Witnesses reported seeing multiple individuals being transported to local hospitals; the extent of their injuries remains unclear.
Authorities said both southbound lanes of Interstate 470 were closed for approximately two hours while the scene was cleared and an investigation was conducted. Tow trucks were dispatched to remove the vehicles involved.
