A fatal crash caused significant traffic delays on I-70 in Montgomery County on Monday.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred at 1:48 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and a box truck near the 182.2-mile marker.
Both occupants of the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
In addition, a previous vehicle fire had temporarily closed westbound I-70 at the 177-mile marker shortly before this crash.
The Missouri Department of Transportation's Traveler Map indicated that westbound lanes are shut down past Exit 183 to an outer road.
Officials advised travelers to avoid the area and use alternative routes, as lane closures are expected to last approximately two hours.
