Two deadly crashes reported in Columbus this week

One person died following a two-vehicle collision on Columbus' South Side on Sept. 15, 2025, at around 9:30 a.m.

According to Columbus police, the crash occurred on State Route 104 near Haul Road. One individual was at the scene. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released.

As of 10:30 a.m., State Route 104 was closed from U.S. Route 33 to Interstate 71 due to the incident.

Man dies days after unrelated crash on Sept. 1 in Columbus

Authorities reported on Sept. 13 that a man injured in a separate crash on Sept. 1 has died. Just before 10 a.m. that day, a pickup truck traveling northbound on South Hamilton Road struck 63-year-old Maissa Hamadi Samb, who was reportedly on his hands and knees in the street.

Samb succumbed to his injuries on Sept. 3 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
