WEBER COUNTY, Utah — Two individuals were seriously injured in a car-semi truck collision on Interstate 84 Saturday night.
The Utah Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred on eastbound I-84 near the mouth of Weber Canyon at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Authorities confirmed that the two occupants of the car sustained life-threatening injuries.
All eastbound lanes were closed for emergency response and were expected to reopen around 10:20 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation. Motorists are being diverted onto U.S. 89.
Initial reports mistakenly indicated that the injured individuals were in the semi-truck; this information has since been corrected by UHP.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
