JACKSON, Miss. — The trial for Jada Kelly, charged with aggravated DUI in a January 2023 crash, continued Thursday in Hinds County.
The incident claimed the lives of Azure Higgins, 47, and Valerie Lynch, 43, at the intersection of Canton Mart Road and I-55 Frontage Road.
On Thursday, a motel owner testified regarding surveillance video from the night of the crash but provided no details about the incident. The prosecution argued that the video was not submitted into evidence, leading to a dispute with the defense.
Following the motel owner’s testimony, the owner of Last Call bar took the stand. According to investigators, Kelly allegedly left the bar shortly before the fatal crash.
Testimony from the Last Call owner is expected to continue.
