PRINCETON, MA—A pickup truck was struck by a falling tree on Fitchburg Road early Monday morning, resulting in injuries to the vehicle's occupants.
The incident took place shortly after 7 a.m. According to Princeton Police, they responded to what was described as a serious motor vehicle crash. Authorities advised motorists to expect delays and consider alternate routes during the response.
Police later reported that lanes were reopening as crews cleared the scene. “The crash was caused by a random act of nature—a tree fell as a truck was traveling on Fitchburg Road. Unfortunately, the occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and have been transported to the hospital,” the police stated.
