JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. (WPEC) — Professional golfer Tiger Woods was arrested for DUI after a two-vehicle crash on Jupiter Island Friday.
At approximately 2 p.m., the Jupiter Island Police Department responded to reports of a rollover accident at 281 South Beach Road. Upon arrival, officers found a pickup truck towing a pressure cleaner trailer and Woods' Land Rover overturned on its driver's side.
According to Sheriff John Budenseik, the crash occurred when the pickup, traveling northbound and slowing to turn into a driveway, was clipped by Woods' vehicle, which allegedly overtook it at high speed. Woods managed to exit the Land Rover through the passenger side.
DUI investigators conducted roadside tests and subsequently arrested Woods, who was taken to the Martin County Jail. Initial breathalyzer results were clear; however, Woods refused a urine test.
He faces charges for DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. No injuries were reported in the accident.
Authorities confirmed that Woods has since been released on bond.
