JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. (WPEC) — Professional golfer Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a two-vehicle crash on Jupiter Island on Friday.
Authorities reported the incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. near 281 South Beach Road. The crash involved a pickup truck, which was pulling a pressure cleaner trailer, and Woods's Land Rover, which rolled onto its driver's side.
According to Martin County Sheriff John Budenseik, the truck was traveling northbound and was slowing to turn into a driveway when Woods's vehicle overtook it at a high rate of speed, striking the trailer and causing the rollover. Witnesses reported that Woods exited the Land Rover through the passenger side.
DUI investigators conducted roadside tests, leading to Woods's arrest, and he was taken to Martin County Jail. Budenseik noted that Woods's breathalyzer test returned clear, but he refused a subsequent urine test. He now faces charges of DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. No injuries were reported from the crash.
Woods was previously involved in notable vehicle incidents, including a serious rollover crash in February 2021, which resulted in serious injuries but was ruled an accident without impairment.
Authorities said that investigations are ongoing.
