Horse and Buggy Crash in Barrington Leaves Three Injured
Barrington, N.Y. — Three individuals were seriously injured, and a horse was euthanized following a horse and buggy crash in Yates County on Sunday afternoon.
Deputies responded to Six Corners Road just before 2:35 p.m. after a car rear-ended a horse and buggy. According to the Yates County Sheriff's Office, the car was traveling southbound when it struck the buggy, ejecting its occupants and causing significant damage to both vehicles.
A man, a woman, and a child from the buggy were transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Meanwhile, the woman and child in the car reported no injuries.
The driver of the car has been charged with following too closely.
Part of Six Corners Road was closed for approximately three hours but has since been reopened. The crash remains under investigation by authorities.
