EATON, Colo. — On November 21, 2026, a local teenager will run 100 kilometers to support families affected by a tragic crash earlier this year.

Jadon Schnell, 16, is organizing the fundraiser in memory of Cash Rinker, Jack Dirksen, and Cooper Nider, who died in a crash on July 25 on Weld County Road 80.

According to Schnell, the run will take place at the Eaton Recreation Center, with all funds raised directed to memorial accounts for the victims’ families. “I just wanted to ultimately raise as much money as I could for these families,” he said.

So far, Schnell has raised over $3,000 toward a $15,000 goal, aiming for $5,000 per family. He expressed his intention to connect with the community and offer support to those grieving.

“I felt called to use my running ability to help others,” Schnell added, emphasizing the personal motivation behind his efforts.

He has previously completed a 40-mile run and is committed to facing this challenge for a greater cause. Additional information on supporting the families can be found online.
