TAMPA, Fla. — A 29-year-old Tampa driver was arrested on DUI charges following a crash on I-275 near I-4 on Thursday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), at approximately 10 p.m. on November 27, a Honda CRV was traveling southbound in the inside lane when it changed lanes into the middle lane, colliding with a Subaru Outback. The impact caused the CRV to rotate and overturn, while the Outback veered off the roadway and struck a concrete barrier.
FHP reported that the CRV ended up on its roof in the center lane, and the Outback came to a stop in the outside lane facing northeast.
Traffic cameras from the Florida Department of Transportation showed part of I-275 South was closed Thursday evening due to the incident.
Emily Frances Diaz, the driver of the CRV, was arrested after registering a blood alcohol content of .205. She suffered minor injuries, according to FHP, while the Outback's driver reported no injuries.
