BARNES COUNTY, N.D. — A single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning claimed the life of 26-year-old Alliana Villaneuva of Jamestown on Interstate 94, east of Valley City.
According to the North Dakota State Patrol, Villaneuva was driving a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound in the westbound lanes at mile marker 298 around 4:01 a.m. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a bridge support.
Authorities confirmed that Villaneuva, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident. There were no other vehicles involved, and initial reports indicate clear weather and good road conditions at the time of the crash.
The State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the incident. No further details about potential lane closures or tows have been released at this time.
