Six individuals were hospitalized following a head-on collision on Sam Garner Road at approximately 5:00 p.m., according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP).
Authorities reported that a northbound vehicle crossed left of center and struck a southbound vehicle. The driver of the northbound vehicle declined medical treatment.
All six occupants of the southbound vehicle were transported to Carteret Health Care for evaluation and treatment.
The crash is under investigation by NCSHP. Sam Garner Road was closed for about one hour but has since been reopened to traffic.
